LoL
This was a follow-up song I wrote
called the Bak-A-Lum Blues that I can't locate.
That was the home improvement company
I worked for when I was 18/19 and living
in my first apartment on Staten Island.
This company was located in Linden NJ.
The worker rep Joe Merch was being a dick,
and we were going to have a meeting at
the local Holiday Inn to try and get rid of him.
And the radio thing LoL
My buddy Dale... (we drove in from S.I. together each
morning doing about 90mph over the Goethals Bridge
blasting the J. Geils Band LoLoL So awesome!)... and me would always play my
boombox loud in the warehouse, and
constantly being told by the boss to
shut the fucking thing off! We never did.
Then, one day, as we all lined up
at the end of the week, and the office chick
walked down the line and handed out
our paychecks just like she always did,
Dale and I actually pulled out pink pieces of paper that said we were fired LoLoL
Fuckin' pink slips, just like in the movies!
They have had enough of the two loud-mouthed
a-holes from Staten Island... bye bye boys LoL
So funny!
Untitled / Unfinished... 30
Well I told you the story 'bout the Bak-A-Lum Blues
You see the gang is back
And they got some more news
Merch's behind the desk,
he's playin' head games again
But not to fear it's gonna come to an end
We got a meeting coming up
Down at the Holiday Inn
We're gonna stuff our face and then drink some gin
We're gonna tell "the man" that we want him out
It's top on the list without a doubt
We gotta stick together, gotta talk some sense
Things must change 'cause we're all too tense
They say strength's in a number
And the number is one
It's the strongest number under the sun
We got black we got white it doesn't matter to me
We gotta stick to our guns 'cause that's the key
Now join together and tell me it's so
Tell me Joe Merch, he must go
We don't need a guy that's on the slide
All we need is one that's on our side
Everyone's the same so they tell you in school
But the boss he plays by a different rule
I know I pushed too far with the radio
This ain't no disco or rock 'n roll show
The boss should be wise and versatile
He shouldn't have gripes that are personal
We like to do our work and like it some
Including me and everyone
But don't let them see that smile on your face
'Cause you're one hundred percent wrong
And they got a case
Now join together and tell me it's so
Tell me Joe Merch, he must go
We don't need a guy that's on the slide
All we need is one that's on our side
