U2 at Live Aid London 1985... Did You Know???

Did you know...

... that the 3 other members of U2...
The Edge... Adam Clayton & Larry Mullen
wanted to kick Bono... their lead singer...
out of the band, to fire him...
right after they left the stage in London
at the Live Aid concert in 1985??

Crazy right!?

But true!

They were mad at Bono for extending their second song of the set which was "Bad",
thus leaving the band no time to play their
current single that was playing on the
radio at the time "Pride".

At the time...
none of them... nor us...
realized that this performance
would become one of Rock 'n Roll's
most memorable moments of all time!

How cool is that!!

Check this link out.
It's from Rolling Stone magazine
and it gives a minute by minute account
of the U2 set at Live Aid... July 13, 1985.
It's pretty neat.

I was lucky enough to be at the
Philadelphia show that day.
Tommy Mondello and friends at Live Aid July 13, 1985 RFK Stadium Philadelphia. We sat around the smiley face for most of the show.

It was SO hot... and crazy!
I remember broken water pipes in the guys bathroom. Standing in a foot of water at the urinal... peeing... while girls were squatting in the urinals next to me... LoL
And why bother peeing in the urinal anyways...
So fuckin awesome!!!
