I love this one...
especially because a few years ago
the people that I'm talking about
began hanging out again every
so often starting in 2022.
I believe this must have been
late 1980's or very early 1990's.
Because it says...
"sitting here like I did 10 years ago".
And I'm pretty sure we stopped
hangin out there just after
we graduated high school
which was 1979.
I guess I was having one of those
sentimental fool moments LoL
So I parked my car in front
of the brook... got out...
and sat exactly
where I did 10 years ago
as a knucklehead teenager...
and drank a few beers!
It was fucking fantastic!!
I even walked a few feet over
to say hello to Mrs. Dorans!
She made the best
chocolate chip cookies!
We all have these moments
of stepping back in time.
They're just so cool!
Teenage Daze
Sitting by the brook Budweiser in hand
I just couldn't pass by
The place they never did understand
I must have driven by about a hundred times
But for some strange reason
My car played dead
I should have known it was a sign
Telling me it's time to stop my world
And take a look at my lifeline
Every night
Just past the dinner hour
We'd meet by the wall of the brook
Van Name... Van Pelt... it didn't matter
They both had what it took
Mom and dad ask...
Just why and why
Why do you hangout there
They say to grow up
Stay away from drugs
They look for the signs
To show they care
But we never did listen
We'd smoke our pot and drink our beer
And we all held hands
at one time or another
We all had dreams
But I think a bit scared
To share them just then
I'm sitting here now
Just like we did ten years ago
Ain't it funny how the time
It rides the wind
I can hear your voices
In the breeze that blows
And I miss them all
I miss the times within that wind
Always keep in touch
With the people who mean so much
Remember your dreams!
