Reggie Jackson... Did You Know???

Did you know...

... that Reggie Jackson was even MORE awesome in the 1977 World Series than I'm sure you remember. Listen to this shit... so far there hasn't been one Yankee's fan that I've talked to that was aware of this amazing stat!

Are you... the diehard Yankee's fan
that you think you are???
Let's see!

Were you aware that Reggie not only hit
(3) homeruns
with (3) swings of the bat
on (3) consecutive first pitches...
but...
he actually hit FOUR (4) homeruns...
on FOUR (4) concecutive swings of the bat
on FOUR (4) pitches!!

Unfucking-believable!

Reggie Jackson... World Series Game 6... Oct 18, 1977 hits first homerun off of Burt Hooton

Reggie Jackson... World Series Game 6... Oct 18, 1977 hits second homerun off of Elias Sosa

Reggie Jackson... World Series Game 6... Oct 18, 1977 hits his third homerun off of Charlie Hough

Game 5... last at bat, first pitch... homerun
( off of Don Sutton )

Game 6... 1st at bat... walk on 4 pitches
Game 6... 2nd at bat, 1st pitch... homerun
Game 6... 3rd at bat, 1st pitch... homerun
Game 6... 4th at bat, 1st pitch... homerun

Holy COW!

were the announcers

Also... do you know how Reggie got his nickname of
"Mr. October"???

It came from Thurman Munson!
Thurman was being interviewed by a reporter and suggested that Reggie would be the better person to talk to having such
post season prowess.

He said to the reporter...
"Why don't you go and ask Mr. October!"
And the name stuck like glue and thus...
the legend was born!

Pretty neat stuff right!!

And yeah... being I grew up a Met's fan,
we would watch the Yankee games...
and root for the other team... LoL

Oh shut up...
1969 & 1986 will forever be with me!!
