Music Memories & Connections!! What's your first thought... when you hear... this song?

Song of the Moment

We ALL have such great memories
connected to certain songs... right?!

I posted another entry here awhile back
about this song connection thing called

But I wanted to give you guys a chance to
share YOUR fucking amazing
memories AND connections!!

These songs that we've been listening to
over the years make up our lifeline...
our time here upon this earth!
Most memories are SO much fun and uplifting...
but I also have connections that
that are much more deeper
and yes... much more darker...
as we all do!
But that connection...
man... it means SO fuckin' much to me...
just as yours do... to you!!!!

So start sharing your thoughts and memories
of your own incredible song connections!!
We wanna read about that shit!

I'm gonna start us off
with one of my own...
and if any of you out there
wanna share "your"
amazing connections...
just email me the song name and story
and I'll post it here.
Or just post your memory
down at the bottom
in the comment section!

Cheers muthafucka's!!

I'll get us going... with this simple gem.
Just think of the movie Wayne's World
while reading... but with this song
instead of Bohemian Rhapsody!
I think they stole that scene from us LoL

For me...
ANYTHING from
Pink Floyd's perfection...

... slaps a huge smile
on my fucking face
because of this moment!!
Pink Floyd... THE WALL... 1979

But... for me...
my first very thought
whenever I hear this song
from this incredible album
is this...

... after I graduated High School in June of 1979
from Port Richmond HS...
Floyd released THE WALL on November 30, 1979.

My friend's and I were 17 / 18 years old...
fresh outta school and had the world...
in the palm of our muthafucking hands!!

The classic memory for me happened
shortly after the album was released.
I had about 8 of my friends packed into
my very first car...
a 1970 Pontiac Tempest...
also known as the doors mobile!
Pretty fuckin' cool right!
I did it all freehand!
That's me... tommy mondello standing next to the most awesome car on Staten Island.
My doors mobile! Always packed with friends and beers!!

Well... we were driving up Forest Ave...
when all of the sudden...
just as we were passing what is now
the Real Madrid restaurant
and the cross-street of Union Ave...
in the Mariner's Harbor section
of Staten Island...

... came on the muthafucking radio!

We just all freaked out!!
Especially my friend Robert Nierenberg...
who was our local rock 'n roll burnout.
He pretty much knew every single thing
about the music we listened to before ANY of us!!
(( Rest in peace brother!! ))

And even though the album just came out
we all knew... and sang...
every fucking word of that song
start to finish!

And also...
not a single drop of beer
was spilt in the process! LoL
We were fucking awesome!!

We were just on top of the world
at that moment in our lives...
just as everyone of you guys were!
What a fuckin' great age that was huh!?!

And that one moment just knocks me out
still to this day whenever I hear
Comfortably Numb!
Actually... ANY of the songs from that album
brings me right back to that amazing moment
in time...
fresh outta school...
not a worry in the world...
packed in that car with my friends...
all of us singing at the top of our lungs...
holding that steering wheel with one hand...
and a can of Budweiser in the other!
Fucking... PERFECT!!!

And yes...
society in general
was WAY different back then kids!
It was too fuckin' good!
And too fucking bad...
because yes... you missed it!

This one silly memory...
this one ridiculous moment in time...
always makes me feel like that
17 year old kid surrounded by his friend's!

Just because of one song...
I will remain a 17 year old...
for the rest of my life...
in mind... body... AND heart... because...

"I have become..."

So how about you???

Any amazing connections
to a specific song or album???

Aerosmith... Amazing... A Perfect Lyric

A Perfect Lyric

Such an amazing song!!!

You can actually see that
lightbulb turn on above his head LoL

We've all had those moments.
Moments of great inspiration...
and those dreadful
moments of great desperation...
when... suddenly...
something clicks!!

You see something...
maybe you hear something...
a sound... a word...
it could be anything that triggers
the turning on of that
muthafucking brilliant lightbulb
above your head... anything!

Isn't that one of the most powerful
feelings in the world...
to have that light switch on!!
Fuck yeah it is!

The chorus here... is perfect!

Aerosmith... Get A Grip... Amazing... 1993
Aerosmith... Get A Grip... Amazing... 1993
Aerosmith... Get A Grip... Amazing... 1993
Aerosmith... Get A Grip... Amazing... 1993

Lyrics
I kept the right ones out
And let the wrong ones in
Had an angel of mercy
To see me through all my sins
There were times in my life
When I was goin' insane
Tryin' to walk through... the pain

And when I lost my grip
And I hit the floor
Yeah I thought I could leave
But couldn't get out the door ha ha
I was so sick and tired
Of livin' a lie
I was wishin' that I would die

It's amazing
With the blink of an eye
You finally see the light
Ooh... it's amazing
When the moment arrives
That'cha know you'll be alright

Yeah it's amazing
And I'm sayin' a prayer
For the desperate hearts tonight

That one last shot's a permanent vacation
And how high can you fly with broken wings
Life's a journey not a destination
And I just can't tell just what tomorrow brings... yeah

You have to learn to crawl
Before you learn to walk
But I just couldn't listen
To all that righteous talk... oh yeah

Well... I was out on the street
Just tryin' to survive
Scratchin' to stay
Alive

It's amazing
With the blink of an eye
You finally see the light
Ooh... it's amazing
When the moment arrives
That'cha know you'll be alright

Ooh... it's amazing
And I'm sayin' a prayer
For the desperate hearts tonight
Desperate hearts... desperate hearts

Baby wanna see what I can give her tonight
Oh baby oh baby oh baby no

Say you wanna go
Love is so amazing
No no
Never let me go
No no

It's love love
It's love it's love love
It's love it's love love
And it's love

So... from all of us at Aerosmith
To all of you out there wherever you are
Remember...
The light at the end of the tunnel may be you
Goodnight

The Rolling Stones... Sway... Song of the Moment

Song of the Moment

Wow... I can't believe I've never heard this song
before yesterday!!

Like most of the world... I love THE STONES!
The big 3 albums for me are...

&

Then I heard this for the first time yesterday!
It's from the Sticky Fingers album from 1971.
And the song is called... SWAY!

Just too powerful...
even without hearing the lyrics!
But right away, as soon as I heard the word sway,
the first thing I thought of was another
amazing song sung by AEROSMITH...
which also included the word "sway"
within the lyrics.
Just as haunting as Sway...
from the Music From Another Dimension
album in 2012.

So place the needle down upon that vinyl
and enjoy... SWAY!!

(Mick Jagger, Keith Richards)
Did you ever wake up to find
A day that broke up your mind
Destroyed your notion of circular time

It's just that demon life has got you in its sway
It's just that demon life has got you in its sway

Ain't flinging tears out on the dusty ground
For all my friends out on the burial ground
Can't stand the feeling getting so brought down

It's just that demon life has got me in its sway
It's just that demon life has got me in its sway

There must be ways to find out
Love is the way they say is really strutting out

Hey, hey, hey now
One day I woke up to find
Right in the bed next to mine
Someone that broke me up with a corner of her smile, yeah

It's just that demon life has got me in its sway
It's just that demon life has got me in its sway

It's just that demon life has got me in its sway
It's just that demon life has got me...

It's just that demon life has got me...

The music of my life...
and maybe yours!!!

THE WHO... Is It In My Head... A Perfect Lyric

A Perfect Lyric

Once again...
we find ourselves completely immersed
within the greatness of THE WHO's

This creative masterpiece is STILL...
my "go to" album...
for SO MANY emotional moments!
From the positively over-the-top highs...
to the down right disgusted lows...
the music AND words
within this double album
from WAY back in 1973
continue to kick my
muthafucking ass!!

And even though the album tells a story
in it's entirety... you can still remove any song
out of context and still...
every single fucking note AND word...
are perfect!
But there are certain lines
that for one reason or another
just stand out for me!
And even though "Cut My Hair"
is my favorite song...
this was the verse that caught me on this day
thus making it one of those stands outs.

Sometimes...
the confusion of life gets to us all
at some point... and this lyric just makes me
laugh and smile with glee whenever I hear it...
because I remember times when I was
in that very grip of confusion LoL
When the simple things in life
just turn you fucking inside out!!
And then pulling out this verbal elixir in some form
be it vinyl album... cassette tape... cd...
and of course now... in 2026... Spotify...
and start to feel ALL of the negative emotion
that was swirling around me
begin to run for the fucking doors
because it knew that...
Pete... Roger... John & Keith
were coming to kick it's muthafucking ass!!! LoL
So Awesome.

Can't you just feel the distress
within these words......

"I feel I'm being followed
My head is empty
Yet every word I say turns out a sentence
Statements to a stranger
Just asking for directions
Turn from being help to being questions"

I was 12 years old and in the sixth grade
when this was released in 1973 and
my friend Joey Marsh played "Bell Boy" for me
on his cassette player that he borrowed
from his big brother Jimmy
while we were in the lunch room
of I.S.51 on Staten Island.
He said "Tom, ya gotta listen to this!"
And the rest is history!!

Think about that...
as of right now... on this very day...
April 26, 2026...
I've been listening to...
and being protected by...
this monster of energy
for 53 muthafucking years!!!
And counting......
So so cool!!

The Who... Quadrophenia... 1973
The Who... Quadrophenia... 1973
The Who... Quadrophenia... 1973. Not sure why the poster says January 1997... as the movie was released in 1979. Maybe it was re-released at this time and given new life as THE WHO had begun a brand new tour during 1996 where they played the entire Quadrophenia album start to finish. And yes... that is Sting... from the Police!
That's my ticket stub from when they toured back in 1996/97 and played the entire album start to finish! Such an amazing night!

Lyrics

I see a man without a problem
I see a country always starved
I hear the music of a heartbeat
I walk and the people turn and laugh

Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head here at the start
Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head or in my heart

I pick up phones and hear my history
I dream of all the calls I miss
I try to number those who love me
And find exactly what the trouble is

Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head here at the start
Is it in my head
Is it in my head
Is it in my head or in my heart

I feel I'm being followed
My head is empty
Yet every word I say turns out a sentence
Statements to a stranger
Just asking for directions
Turn from being help to being questions

I see a man without a problem
