Back In The Saddle
( Tyler / Perry )
I'm back
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back
I'm back in the saddle again
Ridin' into town alone
By the light of da moon
I'm looking for ole' Sukie Jones
She crazy horse saloon
Barkeep gimme a drink
That's when she caught my eye
She turned to gimme a wink
That'd make a grown man cry
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back
Umm... come easy go easy alright
'Til the rising sun
I'm calling all the shots tonight
I'm like a loaded gun
Peelin' off my boots and chaps
I'm saddle sore
Four bits gets you time in the racks
I scream for more
Fools' gold outta their mines
The girls are soaking wet
No tongue's drier than mine
I'll come when I get back
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm riding... I'm loading up my pistol
I'm riding... I really got a fistful
I'm riding... I'm shining up my saddle
I'm riding... this snake is gonna rattle
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back
I'm back in the saddle again
I'm back
Ridin' high
Ridin' high
Ridin' high
Last Child
( Tyler / Whitford )
Oooo ooo...
I'm dreaming tonight... I'm leaving back home
Right
Yea... yeah
Take me back to a south Tallahassee
Down cross the bridge to my sweet sassafrassee
Can't stand up on my feet in the city
Gotta get back to the real nitty gritty
Yes sir no sir
Don't come close to my
Home sweet home
Can't catch no dose
Of my hot tail poontang sweetheart
Sweathog who can make silk purse from a J. Paul Get-(ty)
... And his ear
With her face in her beer
Home sweet home
Get out in the field
Put the mule in the stable
Ma she's a cookin'
Put the eats on the table
Hate's in the city
And my love's in the meadow
Hands on the plough
And my feets in the ghetto
Stand up sit down
Don't do nothin'
It ain't no good when boss man's stuffin' it
Down their throats
For paper notes
And their babies cry
While cities lie at their feet
When you're rockin' the street
Home sweet home
Mama take me home sweet home
I was the last child
I'm just a punk in the street
I was the last child
I'm just a punk in the street
I was the last child
I'm just a punk in the street
I was the last child
I'm just a punk in the street
I was the last child
I'm just a punk in the street
J. Paul Get-(ty) Steven fuckin' Tyler is just too funny! I just realized WHY... this lyric is correct! OMG... it's only taken 35 fucking years!! J. Paul Get is just shorten to hit the rhyme with "sweat" from the previous line... and of course we know he means John Paul Getty! But... he's not talking about the dad... senior Getty! He's talking about J. Paul Getty the third... a grandson! Why you ask?? Because back in 1973 while in Rome at age 16... J. Paul Getty III was kidnapped... and soon after... three months later... an envolope with his hair locks and one of his ears arrived at the Getty household that was sent by the kidnappers to prove that they meant business! They wanted millions for the safe return of JPG III... So now that line just makes total sense... Fuckin' Tyler is something else man... too funny!!
On the Rocks album he doesn't seem to be singing... "make a silk purse"... you just hear... "make silk purse"... but on all the live tracks you can hear him singing it with the "a" included... "make a silk purse"... tommy
Rats In The Cellar
( Tyler / Perry )
Goin' under rats are in the cellar
Goin' under skin's turnin' yellar
Nose is runny losin' my connection
Losin' money gettin' no affection
New York City blues
East side West side news
Throw me in the slam
Catch me if you can
Believe
That'chor wearin'
Tearin' me apart
Ain't complainin' 'cause everything's rotten
Go insanin' and everything's forgotten
Feelin' cozy rats are in the cellar
Cheeks are rosy skin's turning yellar
Loose and soggy lookin' rather lazy
Soon my body pushin' up the daisies
New York City's dues
East side West side news
Throw me in the slam
A catch me if you can
Believe
That'chor wearin'
Tearin' me apart
New York City blues
East side West side news
Throw me in the slam
A catch me if you can
Believe
That'chor wearin'
Tearin' me apart
Combination
( Perry )
The street is cold the dawn is grey
My heart says no but my head says stay
My work is finished or so I've been told
You can't part the three of us once we got a hold
I forgot my name
I took the shot on the chin
I'm re-arranging my game
Tell by the shape I'm...
... In line of fire you know what to say
They gave us no choices just one shade of grey
My legs keep moving don't seem to stray
But I know each step we take they're one step away
I found the secret the key to the vault
We walked in darkness kept hitting the walls
I took the time to feel for the door
I found the secret the key to it all
I got the nouveauree
And dragged it home to bed
I traded you for me
I took it all and said
I find my own fun sometimes for free
I got to pay it to come lookin' for me
Walking on Gucci wearin' Yves Saint Laurent
Barely stay on 'cause I'm so God damn gaunt
I found the secret the key to the vault
We walked in darkness kept hitting the walls
I took the time to feel for the door
I found the secret the key to it all
Steven is hanging all over Joe & reading the lyrics from the stage tele-prompt... So maybe the lyric really is nouveau riche and Joe just bends the sound of it so it rhymes with "me"...
So maybe WE... just found the key to the vault!
It's too cool how Joe kept his concentration with Steven right there in his face... It didn't look like Steven was being a dick or anything... I'm thinking more along the lines of just an awesome Jagger/Richards... Tyler/Perry moment... too neat... tommy
Nouveauree... Well I have no idea??
I can not find the meaning of this word anywhere... in any language! But I've gotten hold of an official looking complete Aerosmith songbook for the first 7 albums up to and including "Ruts"... and even this book is showing nouveauree! So far it's clarified several questions on several songs... so I'm inclined to believe it! I really don't know what Joe was reaching for here! I don't think he transformed it from nouveau riche that was used on the Nine Lives album and means "new rich"... but of course I could be wrong... I read somewhere that he might mean some sort of drug concoction... but who knows! It could also just be Joe using "poetic license" to keep the song flowing... wish I knew for sure! If you listen to it enough times... you can pretty much hear exactly whatever it is that you want to hear... LoL Just one of those times you have to say FUCK IT... and move on... tommy

(Tyler / Hamilton )

Nobody's Fault
( Tyler / Whitford )
Lord I must be dreamin'
What else could this be
Everybody's screamin'
Runnin' for the sea
Holy lands are sinkin'
Birds take to the sky
The prophets are all stinking drunk
I know the reason why
Eyes are full of desire
Mind is so ill at ease
Everything is on fire
Shit piled up to the knees
Out of rhyme or reason
Everyone's to blame
Children of the season
Of the lame
Sorry... you're so sorry
Don't be sorry
Man has known
And now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound
We did an awful job
And now they say it's nobody's fault
Old St. Andres
Seven years ago
Shove it up their richters
Red lines stop and go
Noblemen of courage
Listen with their ears
Spoke but how discouragin'
When no one really hears
One of these day's a you'll be sorry
Too many houses on the stilt
Three million years or just a story
Four on the floor up to the hilt
Out of rhyme or reason
Everyone's to blame
Children of the season
Of the lame
Sorry you're so sorry
Don't be sorry
Man has known
And now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound
We did an awful job
And now we're just a little too late
Eyes are full of desire
Mind is so ill at ease
Everything is on fire
A shit piled up in debris
California show time
Five o'clock's the news
Everybody's concubine
Was prone to take a snooze
Sorry you're so sorry
Don't be sorry
Man has known
And now he's blown it
Upside down and hell's the only sound
We did an aweful job
And now we're just a little too late

Lick And A Promise
(Tyler / Perry )
Johnny come lately on a Saturday night
Singin' how to go
Backstreet boogie in the house of delight
When he steal the show
Money come sour but the ladies are sweet
It's a love affair
Whole place rockin' people stompin' their feet
A when the gang's all there
He gets his woman every night for free
He's out there rockin' like you wouldn't believe
I sing na na na na na
Na na na na na
Johnny like to gamble with his lady Louise
She was a black jack deuces are wild
He got to thinkin' 'bout his nose in the breeze
Put it there Johnny looked and he smiled
He started thinkin' 'bout a fortune and fame
With the young girls down at his knees
He dug the money but forgot all their names
So he knew just how to appease
Lick and a promise
Lick and a promise
Lick and a promise
He gave the ladies a...
Lick and a promise
Lick and a promise
He gave the ladies a...
Lick and a promise
Loose change grubber in his early early years
Had his poor mama pacin' the floors
He grabbed a guitar and a couple a beers
Now the crowd keeps screamin' for more
He gets his woman every night for free
He's out there rockin' like you wouldn't believe
I sing na na na na na
Sing na na na na na
Na na na na
Home Tonight
( Tyler )
Now it's time
To say good night to you
Now it's time
To bid'choo sweet adieu
And maybe drink of cheers to yesterday
And maybe you'll drink those tears away
So baby don't let go
Hold on real tight
'Cause i'll be home tonight
Tonight
So baby don't let go
Hold on real tight
'Cause i'll be home tonight
Tonight
Tonight
